Krida Prabodhini and Income Tax will lock horns for the Pune Mayor Cup Hockey Championship 2018 at the Shiv Chhatrapathi Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi on Sunday.
In the semi-finals played on Saturday, Krida Prabodhini downed first-time entrants 2 Maratha Light Infantry 5-0 and then Income Tax scored a 2-0 win over Central Railway.
Income Tax aided by a strike in each half put aside Central Railway in the second semi-final of the day. Ashutosh Lingesh (17th) opened Income Tax account to help his side lead 1-0 at the breather.
In the second half, Venkey Deukar (51st) took the opportunity he received to finish from top-of the striking circle beating goalkeeper Awdhoot Solankar, who was later replaced.
Earlier, in the first semi-final of the day, Krida Prabodhini were up and going after Talib Shaikh (9th) sounded the boards. Five minutes later, Talib netted his second to take the score to 2-0. Harish Shendge pushed the score further with a strike in the 15th minute.
Just before half time, Rohan Patil (26th) made it 4-0 to sit pretty.
Changing ends, Harish (32nd) netted his second to round of the tally.
